Hello friends!
You may be meeting me for the first time in this newsletter, but behind the scenes I’ve been a part of Holistic Magazine for some time. Today I want to tell you who I am, why I do this work, and how it can impact you and your family.
My name is Dr. Ian Quitadamo. I’m a professional scientist, a professor, and an integrative health practitioner. I don’t tell you that to impress you, only to make it clear that I absolutely love learning, and using that knowledge to help people live better, more than almost anything else.
Since we don’t yet know each other, let me tell you where that motivation comes from.
Certainly I’ve faced my own health challenges - the kind where you do everything you’re told, see all the right people, and still can’t get an answer that makes any real difference. We can discuss that another time.
My biggest motivation comes from helping my wife Jody navigate cancer. I cannot adequately describe how physically and emotionally challenging that process is. I also cannot describe how gratifying it is to help bring someone you love more than anything back to full health, and to see her thrive again afterward. In the process of navigating the labyrinth of the modern health system, it became crystal clear to me that there are thousands of people just like Jody, many of whom have no real advocate. That was unacceptable to me. I know intimately what it feels like to be handed answers that don’t work. So does Jody. That experience lit a fire in me that has only grown over time.
Here’s the truth: you, and likely many more people just like you, are tired of being told “that’s just the way it is,” or “you’re getting older,” or a million other versions of the same non-answer. I got tired of it too. Those answers ask you to quietly lower your expectations for your own life. I don’t accept that. Neither should you.
The fact is, the science exists to help you live better, for a longer time. Not a miracle. Not a shortcut. Real, well-understood physiology: how your body actually works, and what it needs to heal and to thrive. Every aspect of the quality of your life is tied directly back to your health - the energy, the clarity, and the years to be fully present for your loved ones, your community, and your career. That is what living better, longer actually means, and I want it for you as much as I want it for myself and my family.
You likely make the best decisions you can. The trouble is that it’s near-impossible to know what, or who, to believe these days. Most health information out there is watered down, contradictory, or quietly trying to sell you something. I answer to the evidence, not to any company. My job is to help you separate the signal from the noise - what actually works, what doesn’t, and why. For years I’ve done much of that work quietly, in my clinic, with hundreds of clients nationwide. Now I want to do it openly, and directly with you.
A little about where we’re headed. Twice a week, you’ll keep getting the research-backed articles you’ve come to expect - practical, grounded, and genuinely useful. And for those who want to go further, we’re opening up some new ways to do that: in-depth guides, a growing resource library, premium content, and live sessions every other week where I’ll teach on a topic and explore your general health questions. We’ll also talk honestly about the things people ask me about most, including supplements, where I’ll tell you plainly which few brands I actually trust, and why.
I don’t expect you to trust me right away. I expect to earn your trust over time, through scientific evidence and a mission to make the world better through better health, one person at a time.
One thing I want to be transparent about, because it matters. We’ve set the price for all of this at just $5 a month going forward. That’s intentional. The best health information tends to reach the people who can already afford the best of everything, and I’ve spent enough time in this system to see what that costs everyone else. I refuse to make trustworthy health guidance something only a few people can afford. This isn’t about revenue. It’s about being a force for good in the world, and reaching as many people as we can.
My hope is that this becomes more than another subscription. I want it to be a place you can return to when you’re confused by something you’ve heard, when you want to understand your body a little better, or when you simply want thoughtful, evidence-based guidance from someone who genuinely cares about getting it right.
If that speaks to you, I’d be glad to have you with us.
Thank you for being here. I’m honored to be part of the Holistic Magazine community, and I can’t wait to help you live better, longer. And if someone came to mind while you were reading this - someone still being handed answers that don’t work - send it their way. Everyone deserves an advocate.
To your health,
Dr. Ian Quitadamo
